The Production Areas of Six Types of Tea in China (Ⅱ)

Today, let’s learn about the production areas of the other three types of tea: oolong tea, black tea and dark tea.

Oolong tea, called blue tea as well. It is mainly grown in Fujian, Guangdong, and Taiwan. And there are some types of oolong tea which are pretty famous such as Tieguanyin, Wuyi Rock Tea, Zhangping Narcissus, Phoenix Dancong, Oriental Beauty and Dongding Oolong etc. Different origins give different tastes to oolong tea.

When it comes to black tea, its producing-areas are distributed from east to west in China – from Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang in the east, to Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou in the west, you can find black tea production in all of these provinces. And the tea may have many types of flavour due to the different producing area. Lapang Souchong from Tongmu village in Wuyi Mountain is the ancestor of black tea. In the same area, there is another famous high-end black tea called Jin Jun Mei. Besides there are Yingde black tea produced in Yingde Guangdong, Keemun black tea produced in Qimen Anhui, Dianhong Gongfu in Yunnan and Chuanhong Gongfu in Sichuan.

Last but not least, let’s have a look at dark tea. It has four main producing areas, like the Ripe Pu’er in Yunnan, Anhua dark tea in Hunan, Laoqing Cha from Hubei, and Liubao tea in Guangxi.
